Taking reservations for Kayak trips and Bass Fishing trips.

Fresh water adventures. The most beautiful part of Maine is arguably the inland waters, and Maine streams and rivers have the most to reveal. While silently paddling down stream never knowing what sights are around the next bend, makes fresh water kayaking a nature lover's dream.

Take a local four hour tour through a state management era.

Better yet take a day trip through water ways only accessible by kayak or canoe.

The best take a six day paddle of Maine's most remote water way, The Allagash.

Add a stream side lunch to top off the trip!

Tips for cold water paddling: From Mater Guide Dutch

Time to think wet or dry suit. The dry suit is a must when the water goes below 40 degrees they are bulky and do not breath so be sure to ware sweat absorbent clothing under them. As soon as the water temp starts to rise and the ice breaks up form the sun I do recommend a farmer john style wet suit. It is warn like long underwear and if you do swim it will give you the added protection to handle the cold. A 3-mill suit is very thin and adequate for most cool water paddling. I do ware mine till July when the water goes over 60.
A place we can get in trouble is on open water I have been told that motorboats call us (kayaks) speed bumps. To avoid this make sure you are visible to boat traffic. I strongly recommend that you attach a kayak flag to your boat available at the Wiscasset Trading Post. Wear a bright colored hat and bright colored paddle, or one with reflective tape will make you much more visible to powerboats. Yes you do have the right of way but they're much bigger, so stay out of major bell and buoy crossings. Always be prepared for the weather the sun is much stronger on the water especially paddling. Use the golden rule "ALLWAYS PACK YOUR Brain" on each trip.
At the Wiscasset Trading Post you can find many products to make you trip more enjoyable.
Your best friend is the weatherman before you leave check with him. Also let others know where you are paddling and when you will be back.
