A straight keel line and the sharpest entry of all Oltonar/Royalex® canoes puts the Penobscot 16 in a class by itself for paddling ease. While excellent in flat water, Penobscot's design and Oltonar/Royalex® construction makes it very much at home in fast water. A fine tandem daytripping boat, the Penobscot 16 shines as a solo canoe for paddlers with higher skill levels who enjoy downriver whitewater racing or wilderness tripping. With the optional center seat, pitched and positioned for maximum solo performance, the Penobscot 16 also readily takes on an extra passenger for an afternoon of family paddling. Its straight-on speed, handling ease, and capacity are exactly what an all-around performance canoe should be. Standard features include new vintage-look gold leaf graphics (based on custom designs from the 1920s), black anodized aluminum gunwales, polyethylene decks w/grab handles, ash carrying yoke and thwart, and cane seats.
